What’s keeps you busy? I interact with quite a few of you, yet I’m always curious what you do for a living...What’s your occupation or where do you spend your days? Do you love it, or do you have something else in your sights? For myself, I spread my time between Willow Craft and My primary job in networking. The official title is Telecom Director for a large grocery company located here in the Southern US. I manage and monitor the connections for the company to ensure everything stays online and runs smoothly from the network side of things. I work from home and split my work area with the leather room. I was fortunate to go part time earlier this year to pursue Willow Craft Goods with the hope of growing it into something larger someday. Thinking about the future is always exciting, but you’ve got to enjoy the journey there! • • • • #willowcraftgoods #willowcraftleathergoods #willowcraftleather #leathergoods #leathercraft #leather #wallet #handmade #edcshowcase #madeinusa #workshop #everydaycarry #shopsmall #smallbusiness #minimalist #minimalistwallet

Since the launch of Willow Craft Goods early March, we have received a number of kind comments, messages and emails from all of you who have sent love and support our direction and picked up a wallet or two and sometimes three from us. I tried to make it a habit to screenshot these words of encouragement to look back on, and someday put together a quick compilation of them to put up on the website. Names or usernames have been removed for privacy, but I wanted to share the video on here as well as a big THANK YOU for all if the support thus far in this crazy year! If you recognize a comment in there, know that it means the world to us! We look forward to what the future holds and are excited to continue and build the brand into something special and unique! -The Harkins Family, and Pups 🙂 Music: The Glitch Mob - Starve the Ego, Feed the Soul • • #willowcraftgoods #willowcraftleathergoods #willowcraftleather #leathergoods #leathercraft #leather #wallet #handmade #madeinusa #workshop #everydaycarry #edc #edcgear #shopsmall #smallbusiness #minimalist #minimalistwallet

Time-lapse of the stitching process for the rear of a Luxe Wallet. The rear stitching for the wrap around straps is the last stitch and they are rather difficult to finish due to the extremely limited space. There is not room to actually thread the needle from the inside out - so I actually insert the needle eyelet in from the outside and thread it on the inside every step - never actually tying off the thread throughout the process. Often times, using a pair of tweezers to do the job inside. • • • #willowcraftgoods #willowcraftleathergoods #willowcraftleather #leathergoods #leathercraft #leather #wallet #handmade #madeinusa #workshop #everydaycarry #shopsmall #smallbusiness #luxewallet #wickettandcraig #minimalist #minimalistwallet

Working on the 3rd Luxur Clutch Prototype today! My Lovely Wife carried the original for a number of months and was very happy with it - but there were a few changes we wanted to make. The main change was an addition of a coin pocket - we decided the slight change in thickness would be worth it. The other changes are slight measurement changes, and a few adjustments to the stitching. • • • #willowcraftgoods #willowcraftleathergoods #willowcraftleather #leathergoods #leathercraft #leather #wallet #handmade #edcshowcase #madeinusa #workshop #everydaycarry #edc #edcgear #shopsmall #smallbusiness #wickettandcraig #edcdump #edcpocketdump #pocketdump #minimalist #minimalistwallet #clutchwallet #luxurclutch #womenswallet

With the current lineup, I don’t have any designs that really stack leather too much. With that, I don’t have multiple pieces to burnish together at the end once stitching is complete. Instead, I actually burnish the individual edges of each leather piece on all sides before stitching. After the edges are done, you can see me applying a burnishing agent to the back side of every piece of leather here. I then hand rub the flesh side edges to seal it up and help prevent little frays from coming out as each item gets some use. Quite a bit of time is spent burnishing every leather edge, and then also doing the backside - but the end result gives a very clean look and is worth it. Once I started doing these steps, I just can’t see the process without them. • • • #willowcraftgoods #willowcraftleathergoods #willowcraftleather #leathergoods #leathercraft #leather #wallet #handmade #madeinusa #workshop #everydaycarry #edc #edcgear #shopsmall #smallbusiness #luxewallet #wickettandcraig #minimalist #minimalistwallet

Here is a short snippet of what goes into stitching the rear wrap around straps on the Luxe, Posh, and Opus. I plan on making a full video in the future. Due to the design, I have to stitch inside the wallets with minimal room. The method I use is to melt the thread ends and draw them to a point, I never tie the thread, but am constantly re-threading the needle on every stitch. From the inside, I actually put the eyelet of the needle in from the outside and thread the inner string while inside the wallet and then just pull it out. Additionally, I have to place a second needle’s eyelet about 3-4 steps back from the finish just to use that eyelet down the line when tying off the stitch. By using that method, I never stretch the leather. After doing a ton of these, I have gotten pretty good at it, but am often using tweezers to thread the inside. When you see the rear of one of the wallets, it looks simple - however stitching them is not 😉 • • • #willowcraftgoods #willowcraftleathergoods #willowcraftleather #leathergoods #leathercraft #leather #wallet #handmade #edcshowcase #madeinusa #workshop #everydaycarry #edc #edcgear #shopsmall #smallbusiness #luxewallet #wickettandcraig #edcdump #edcpocketdump #pocketdump #minimalist #minimalistwallet #menswear #saddlestitch

Inside shot of a Luxe in progress. I have always had a tendency to overdo things - because if I’m making it, why not? Small detail: when finishing off my saddle stitch, I’ll do a back stitch, followed by a double knot hidden somewhere, then the thread tips are melted and pressed over the knot and finally I’ll put glue over it to seal the deal. It leaves a clean finished stitch on the outside and I’m confident it won’t come undone 👌 • • • #willowcraftgoods #willowcraftleathergoods #willowcraftleather #leathergoods #leathercraft #leather #wallet #handmade #edcshowcase #madeinusa #workshop #everydaycarry #edc #edcgear #shopsmall #smallbusiness #luxewallet #wickettandcraig #edcdump #edcpocketdump #pocketdump #minimalistwallet #minimalistwallets
